Department of Health Abu Dhabi Professionals Services

Healthcare professionals may request the issuance of a DOH license to work in a healthcare facility in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Process :

  • Create unique identification number through DoH user management system
  • Visit data flow website and submit all the requirements and documents for primary source verification
  • Receive notification of the completion of the verification process.
  • Review your application prior to submitting it to the credentialing process through User Management System (UMS)
  • Pay the application fees.
  • Credentialing and review process for license eligibility determination.
  • Pay the issuance fees and print the license electronically upon the completion of payment.

Required Documents :

  • Attested Certificate / Academic Qualification / Record by issuing entity.
  • Emirates ID (If available)
  • Clinical experience certificates in recent years as per the criteria requirements.
  • Staff data form
  • E-tarasol barcode
  • Good Conduct Certificate issued by the Authorized Health Regulatory Body or Professional Body stating the current professional conduct status with dates of issuance and status of current license
  • Health License to practice issued by the Regulatory Authority of the country recently practiced, that covers the recent years of experience, the license may not be required for those whose country law do not issue licenses to some categories in Allied Health Professionals, with which in such a case a formal letter from the official Health Regulation of the country shall be required.
  • A nomination letter from a Healthcare provider from Abu Dhabi.
  • Official Logbook for the Past 2 Years For Surgeons.
  • Passport & photo

As a licensed healthcare professional, you can renew, change or add your professional title, or cancel your license.

Process: 

  • Apply via TAMM portal
  • Pay the applicable fees
  • Receive the required amendment

Currently or previously DOH licensed healthcare professionals can apply for a current professional status certificate known as the (Good Standing Certificate) which indicates the healthcare professional status of practice during the license period.

Process: 

  • Login to TAMM portal and access the DOH Workspace
  • Click on the “Healthcare Professional Licenses” widget
  • For the selected professional, click on “Amend” from the “Actions” dropdown menu
  • Select “Request a Current Professional Status Certificate”
  • Continue the process on TAMM and submit the application
  • Obtain the Status Certificate from the output option
  • You must meet all of the eligibility criteria for your specialty in order for your application to be approved.
  • Once credentialing has been done and approved by DOH, you will need to login to the DOH website using the username and password provided to you after clearing the Dataflow. Then you will need to book the DOH exam-ticket.
  • Following the DOH exam-ticket booking, Pearson VUE will email a username and password to you within 72 hours that you may use to schedule your examination date as per the eligibility that you have received from DOH.

Verification requires 25 Calendar Days depending on the accuracy of the information and clarity of the documents you provide.

  • Make sure you apply for the DataFlow verification process prior to the evaluation phase of the DoH – Abu Dhabi registration process
  • The accuracy of provided information is essential to avoiding any delay and/or termination of your application

Renal Dialysis Online Interview Examination Format:

  • The oral assessment consists of minimum five clinical case scenarios in addition to one ethical scenario.
  • The duration of the oral assessment ranges between 45 minutes and up to 1 hour.
  • The content of the oral assessment may include:
    • Evidence based practice
    • Accepted international professional standards
    • Technical expertise and competencies of the speciality
    • General technical knowledge, judgment and skills
    • Patient risk factors and management of general safety issues 
    • Professional ethics
  • The oral assessment may also include:
    • Actual cases for consideration using radiographs
    • Slides interpretation 
    • Models and / or copies of depersonalized patient records

FAQs

  • Submit your application through the verification company called Dataflow
  • Attach all the required documents and submit your application
  • An email confirming the application completeness and requesting dataflow fees will be sent to you
  • Pay Dataflow fees
  • Dataflow will provide you with a link to the HAAD e-licensing system, and send you a username & password via the email registered in the initial application.
  • The Health Professional licensing section will review the application and forward it to either exam or direct licensure (if the applicant isexempted from HAAD exam)
  • Sponsoring facility will be required at this stage; in order to forward your file to the security clearance (CID)
  • After positive feedback from security clearance, the application will be forwarded to facility licensing for review
  • Malpractice Insurance Protection certificate to be uploaded by sponsoring facility. Following payment of the license fee, the license will be issued and forwarded to applicant via courier (EMPOST)

  • A valid and current Health Professional license issued by the regulatory body
  • Certificate(s) of Good Standing from the relevant regulatory authority
  • Applicant Declaration Form completed and signed by the applicant
  • Staff Data clearance form (provided in the application)
  • Nomination letter (for facility sponsored applicants)

The application process is completed electronically; there is an international test center provider (Pearson VUE) for the following professions:

  • Medical practitioner
  • General practitioner dentist
  • Registered nurse
  • School nurse
  • Practical nurse
  • Specialty nurse
  • Pharmacist
  • Pharmacy Technician
  • Dental nurse
  • Medical imaging technician or technologist
  • Medical laboratory technician or technologist
  • Physiotherapist

Other professions have to attend in person for the exam

If the healthcare professional has gained extra qualification or experience that qualifies him/her for another title, he/she can apply for change
of title application, for example specialist to consultant or registered nurse to school nurse.

  • Recent passport size photograph (white background)
  • Educational qualifications
  • Experience certificates
  • Privileges for the past three years
  • Primary source verification (Dataflow) report
  • Official logbook for the past 2 years. For surgeons (including Obstetrics & Gynecology) and dentist specialists.
  • Transcript or residency programs. May be required for evaluating the qualification

You are required to proceed with your application  by attaching the following requirements :

  • Attach a nomination letter from a sponsoring facility
  • Fill in the facility name and facility license number which you will be joining

Once done you may re-submit the application to proceed

Required when a Healthcare professional wishes to re-obtain his/her DOH (HAAD) license to work in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi

  • Recent passport size photograph (white background)
  • Valid Passport copy
  • Experience certificates
  • Registration(s) or license(s) from the country where the updated experience(s) was obtained
  • Certificate(s) of Good Standing. From the regulatory authority issuing the license(s) for the updated experience(s)
  • Staff Data clearance form (Security clearance form)
  • Nomination letter
  • Malpractice insurance for healthcare professional
  • Primary source verification (Data Flow Report)
